You’ve received an orchid! Here are some tips to keep your plant happy. 

Place in an east or south facing room, these plants prefer bright indirect light. Orchids love humidity, place a water-filled saucer beneath your plant, mist daily, or keep in a humid area of your home like a kitchen or bathroom. 

Orchids need ample water, but should be allowed to dry out some between watering. Check moisture by poking finger an inch into the growing media, if it’s dry, give it some water, otherwise, let it be.  

Once the blooms are spent, cut the long bloom tendril back down near the leaves and roots. Add orchid fertilizer to promote new growth and reblooming.
